A rambling pinnately lobed fern emerges in spring with soft green sterile fronds through summer; fronds are deciduous, often turning bright yellow before disappearing in winter; fast growing, forms colonies in rich boggy or moist loamy soils; height 12-18”; shade to part shade; deer do not eat ferns.
