Description
Native to our area, Purple Coneflower grows best in hot, dry locations but can thrive in a variety of regularly watered, well-drained soil types, including sandy, rocky, and clay soils. Does not like undrained wet or mucky soil. Prefers slightly acidic soil pH of about 6.5 to 7.0. For best results, add a bit of compost to soil mixture when planting. The flower requires at least 6 to 8 hours of full sunlight daily. Attracts pollinators and birds.
